"UKCloud is a great company to work for, but be prepared to work hard "
What’s your background?
I was an English teacher back in Lithuania, then 13 years ago I moved to the UK and spent some time working as an office administrator in IT Recruitment. It was back in 2010 when I decided to start my compliance journey.
What brought you to UKCloud?
I joined UKCloud back in 2012, at this time UKCloud was just getting started and it had a lot of potential. There were a lot of opportunities in compliance to help the business, such as implementing various management systems. I had also worked with many UKCloud employees previously so it had a great family feel and a real drive for success – which continues to make it an attractive company to work for.
What does your day look like?
It sounds cliché but not a single day in compliance is the same. Every day is about co-ordination, conduct and documentation of the company’s audit and compliance related activities. This could mean risk management, asset management activities, conducting internal audits or helping colleagues with the customer queries.
What is your ambition for you and your team?
To ensure that all the management systems (information security, quality and IT service management) are appropriately managed at all times, and to ensure that our staff are aware of their security roles and responsibilities.
What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to join UKCloud?
UKCloud is a great company to work for, but be prepared to work hard.
