"We ultimately want to save our colleagues and customers time so they can focus on making the most out of UKCloud's services"
What is your background?
I’ve spent over 25 years working in IT before I took a 6-year break to teach IT in Thailand. I have been able to travel over 70 countries and I’m excited to continue visiting more.
What brought you to UKCloud?
I was really looking for my next challenge, at my previous employer I had built and managed as much as I could. I could see the opportunity at UKCloud and how it could take my career to the next level.
What work are you excited about?
Building a library of puppet modules, setting up a good security scanning and reporting implementation and pushing forward the current VM Migration project are just a few of the exiting projects I am keen to get involved in.
What does your day to day look like?
Every day is a little bit different, day to day I’m working on lots of DevOps tools, Puppet, Packer and Jenkins. There is a lot of historical tools which need re-implementing correctly as well so technologies like Nessus and CMDb are also on my radar
What is the ambition for you and the team?
We strive to be as automated as we can. We want the implementation of new systems to be available at the click of a button with minimal manual input. We ultimately want to save our colleagues and customers time so they can focus on making the most out of UKCloud’s services.
