What brought you to UKCloud?

Before UKCloud I worked in a range of companies in the IT and Telecoms industry, I was really looking for the next big challenge and a company where I could influence the future and direction of the company and the role on offer at UKCloud looked perfect. I wanted to make a personal contribution to a company who purpose strongly believe in. UKCloud was good at recognising individuals who go over and beyond their expectations and supporting individuals who want to grow and develop.

What work are you excited about?

There is always lot of exciting activities and projects going on within the platforms team’s. I’m really excited about engaging with our customers and new communities being formed on our platform and finding solution’s to how we can better serve them. Additionally, I’m really excited by the new platforms and services we are providing and will continue to roll out. The cadence of change and ongoing challenge with working at such a dynamic company is what really excites me.

What does your day to day look like?

Predominantly I lead and support technologist’s, mentoring and developing the team and its capabilities. I work in an environment that is deeply involved in VMware, OpenStack, Oracle and technologies like OpenShift, Avamar and Networking. Although I don’t get hands on, I get excellent exposure to the teams I support.

What is the ambition for you and your team?

I want to continue to provide strong leadership and support for the team and strategy of the business. I want to support my team in developing their personal skills and challenge them with new technologies and projects to support our customers and develop our services.
