Through our 6 year history, we have focused on doing what’s right and remained dedicated to our core values. By developing digital services and products that underpin economic growth, and support our public sector customers, we have been named as SME Digital leader of the year and gained the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. Paying UK taxes and remaining dedicated to the community that has supported us, we ensure that we give back too. We believe in doing what’s right and in fact pledge 2% of our annual pre-tax profits to charity. We have our own UKCloud Foundation which enables us to support key charities such as the Prince’s Trust and Children in Need, as well as actively encouraging our employees to donate their time and skills to a charity of their choice.
We are constantly evolving our platform to ensure we deliver choice and flexibility to our customer base. We place the right workload, on the right cloud, in the right place.
This investment is paying off. Through significant enhancements to our VMware platform we are able to deliver market leading performance over a variety of benchmarking tests.
Since the government introduced a ‘Cloud First’ policy, we have been at the forefront, helping public sector organisations to transition to the cloud and realise the cost savings it has to offer. In February 2017, the government launched its new Transformation Strategy which aims to push digital transformation deeper in to the public sector by 2020. The cabinet office found that between 2012 and 2015, the original digital transformation strategy, saved the government in excess of £3.5bn.
The ‘cloud first’ policy generated a demand for true cloud native applications and in response to this we developed and launched our Cloud Native Infrastructure service in 2016 powered by OpenStack – the leading open source alternative to the proprietary global public cloud platforms.
Our OpenStack benchmarking reports show improvements in terms of reliability, functionality and performance and enable our customers to “do more, for less”. We further support this by charging no egress costs, a major concern for many CIOs, which is quite at contrast with industry standard.
Our Service Excellence
At UKCloud we’re passionate about delivering service excellence. This underpins everything that we do. We’re investing heavily in our service desk, growing the number of Technical Account Managers and recently won an award for Customer Service Excellence – in recognition of the positive changes we are making to our infrastructure.
We take onboard customer feedback too, we don’t just offer empty promises. Our UKCloud Ideas portal enables customers to feedback directly to us on things that they would like to see changed or added to our services – and their fellow peers can offer support on these suggestions to, with changes being rolled out where viable. This coupled with our UK based support and Network Operations Centre (NOC) proves our passion in providing only the best service to our customers, and nothing less.
