Our QA team work to understand the customer benefits and business requirements being provided by our infrastructure, software and services and make sure we have effective technical testing to prove they have been achieved. Our QA Engineers coach, uphold and improve practices to achieve better quality in our infrastructure, software and services with the Lead QA additionally holding line-management responsibilities to help make sure we run smoothly.
Own the QA test strategy for infrastructure, software and services, with a focus on continuous improvement and the creation of a centre of excellence for quality. Providing coaching and guidance to support the teams in modern agile testing practices
Lead the creation, maintenance and improvement of the test environments required to support the end to end testing for all our infrastructure, software and services
Line management and coaching of aligned QA engineers, including mentoring and motivation, training and development plans, recording absences and holidays, performance reviews and interviewing
Provide effective testing of infrastructure, software and services during project/development to capture and thereby reduce defects passing to production using a combination of automated and manual testing. Utilising different tools and techniques to ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are met
Implement and help maintain necessary test suits and tooling for automated testing, e.g. Selenium
Line leadership experience or proven aptitude for coaching, mentoring and support to get the very best results from the people you work with
Proven experience of testing physical server, virtualised and cloud infrastructures
Proven experience of testing web-based applications, headless services and APIs
Strong test automation programming experience, ideally using Python. Including the implementation of automation frameworks like RSpec, Selenium and Cucumber
Proven experience of application performance, security, accessibility and integration testing
Commercial experience of working with Agile teams and practices, with a drive for quality, continuous improvement and learning
Experience with test management and continuous delivery solutions, e.g. GIT, Jira, Bamboo, Jenkins
Experience with behaviour and test driven development environments (BDD/TDD) Desirable:
Proven experience of testing of software-defined infrastructure solutions
ISEB / ISTQB-BCS Tester Foundation Certified or greater
