UKCloud operate our own multi-tenant cloud platform in secure UK datacentres – and we’re able to deploy dedicated instances of our platform as private clouds either on-premises or hosted.
We launched UKCloudX in 2018 specifically to address the unique challenges facing the Defence, Policing and National Security sectors. We were the first to deliver a multi-tenant capability for higher classification environments. We’re now looking for an experienced Lead Technologist to join the team and drive the continued development and innovation of our unique platform.
Leading the team of specialist domain architects to ensure everyone is working to a consistent outcome
Support the creation and delivery of the Tier 2 roadmap of new capabilities and features by research new vendors, technologies and solutions to validate suitability and ensure appropriate levels of assurance
Contribute to standards, policy, processes and best practice in collaboration with other architecture teams and design authorities and share/publicise this knowledge
Support the planning process to ensure an efficient approach to engineering, implementation of dependencies and mitigation of risks
Consider and incorporate Tier 2 security into all aspects of design
Provide hands-on guidance and assistance to members of the Tier 2 cross-functional team
Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working with complex Infrastructure solutions (virtualisation, networking, storage, automation)
Experience working in high security (Tier 2) environments - interpreting & implementing HMG security policy
Experience in Defence, Policing or Intelligence sectors
Familiarity with MoD standards or policing equivalents e.g. JSPs
Enterprise Architecture expertise (e.g. TOGAF) to support end-to-end systems engineering
Strong verbal and visual communication and documentation skills
Gravitas of being a Technical Design/Delivery Authority
Ability to support customer engagements during pre-sales and delivery
Ability to lead by example – e.g. do some design and engineering – not just strategy
