We are looking for a DevOps Engineer With experience of vCloud Director, OpenStack and Azure, the role will assist our customers to develop and deploy code efficiently and ensure that code and best practices are shared amongst our customers.
Work with customers, partners and internal teams to develop scripts and tools which demonstrate and promote programmatic control of cloud platforms.
Promoting knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture and modern development methodologies • Help colleagues and customers adopt good working practice when designing and running services on cloud infrastructure
Help relate the benefits of adopting a DevOps culture to business centric teams
Develop enablement materials showcasing best practices and incorporating customer needs
Use knowledge and experience to actively develop customer satisfaction with UKCloud.
Provide high quality solutions, documentation and training• Identify methods of enhancing the customer experience of UKCloud’s platforms and work with ourinternal teams to implement
Hands on experience developing and running infrastructure and software deployment in an agile environment
Able to influence and push the business value of true cloud-based application delivery
Understanding of cloud-based tools and applications from the top of the solution stack downwards
Experience interfacing with common cloud platforms to deliver automated efficient deployment practices
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Terraform, Ansible or an equivalent
Strong experience administering and maintaining Linux systems.
Strong experience managing code in GIT.
A working understanding of code and script (PowerShell, Python, and/or Ruby)
An understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases
Experience using automation to collect detailed metrics from software component which can be used to provide availability monitoring and deep insight into service operation.
Broad knowledge of hardware/software/networking and interfaces commonly found in cloud platforms
Experience of writing automated tests and managing continuous integration/deployment pipelines such as Jenkins & Azure DevOps.
