London – September 13, 2016 – UKCloud, formerly Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured cloud services company, has been announced as the winner of The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100. Published on Sunday 11th September, the 16th annual league table and awards programme ranks Britain’s fastest growing private technology companies, based on sales over the last three years.
“To win this year’s Sunday Times Tech Track 100 having been named ‘one to watch’ last year typifies our rapid growth and success to date,” said Simon Hansford, CEO of UKCloud. “As an organisation, we’re entirely dedicated to supporting the needs of the UK public sector as it continues to adopt cloud services and we’re delighted to receive industry recognition of our commitment and innovation in this field.”
Since its launch on the debut of the G-Cloud Framework in 2012, UKCloud has experienced rapid growth, winning high-profile public sector contracts with HMRC, the Home Office and DVLA, to name a few. The firm’s channel partner programme has also gone from strength to strength, now comprising more than 200 organisations that are able to leverage UKCloud’s accredited and UK sovereign platform to bring their services to the public sector market. A socially responsible organisation which donates significant resources to charity via the UKCloud Foundation, the company recently announced its ninth consecutive wave of price cuts on G-Cloud 8, which is enabling further savings for its public sector customer base.
“The technical differentiation of the UKCloud platform, which is based on VMware cloud technologies, is highly advanced,” said Pat Gelsinger, chief executive officer, VMware. “UKCloud has been laser focused on the public sector market; we fully support this approach, and expect that many more will wish to emulate this in light of UKCloud’s accomplishments.”
Edwin Paalvast, President for EMEAR at Cisco, a key partner and supplier to UKCloud, said “As government departments and citizens continue to expect on-demand, anytime access to their content and services nearly everywhere, organisations want to work with expert cloud providers who understand their unique markets. UKCloud’s platform and range of cloud services, combined with their public sector expertise, makes them tremendously relevant in today’s market, helping the public sector drive more innovation, generate value and deliver a better citizen experience”.
Stephen Welton, CEO of BGF (Business Growth Fund), which in 2014 made a £4 million investment in UKCloud, added: “At the outset, we recognised UKCloud’s enormous potential for growth, both due to a flourishing market opportunity and also as a result of the management team’s sheer commitment to succeed. It is hugely exciting to see a company that we have backed named as Britain’s fastest growing private tech firm, and we are delighted that UKCloud is continuing on its rapid growth trajectory.”
“With cloud adoption in our market set to rise from 4 percent to 30 in the next four years, our future growth prospects are certainly promising,” continued Hansford. “We remain focused on innovating our platform in line with the growing and maturing requirements of the public sector, as more and more citizen-facing services are digitised, and in continually to improve our customer experience.”
This latest accolade follows a series of awards successes for UKCloud. Within the last year, the firm won the Communications category in Deloitte Global’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA programme, which ranks the fastest growing public and private technology companies annually, and came second in the Fast 50 UK shortlist. UKCloud was also named the winner of the Community & Environment Action Award in the 2015 British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA)’s Management Team Awards; won Cloud Provider Innovation of the Year at the 2014 UK IT Industry Awards and topped the Pathfinder 20 index of the UK’s most exciting emerging technology companies.
