Idea submitted by an attendee at Meet the Team on 1st November
It would be useful to have a record of activities performed in the Portal for auditing purposes.

It doesn't seem possible to get maintainence notifications from the service status site https://status.ukcloud.com by any of email, atom or RSS - only incident notifications.
Could this be added as some maint notifications have mandatory actions attached that may be missed.

It would be good to show open tickets first in the portal ( or have an option to allow this ) to avoid having to page through closed tickets to find old ongoing open tickets

It would be useful to add a count of currently active SRAS certificates for each SRAS VDC, to allow us to identify mismatches between certificate counts and number of devices in use, without having to raise a service request.

It would be really useful to have an Elevated accesible version of the the new Knowledge base as currently if a support engineer posts a link to a new KB article, you have to copy the link off the elevated portal ticket, off your SRAS laptop to an internet connected device in order to view it.

It would be useful to get notified of a count or list of VMs that haven't been booted in over 90 days as these may be suitable for removal, saving money by no longer paying for the storage charges.

In our recent service review the following customer environment status indicators were given to us:

    Old vShield Edges
    Disabled Firewalls
    Out of date Snapshots
    Old VMware tools

Could these indicators be added to the UKC Portal with notifications if we stop being "green" for each of them

The current UKC Portal has some odd "Captcha" style questions eg How many days are there in a month? Could a more standard Captcha framework be used (assuming this could be made to work in both Assured and Elevated).

Also could support for external authentication providers ( eg Google authentication ) be added (this may have to be Assured only)?

In order to meet monitoring requirements, it would be good to be able to interface our protective monitoring system with ukcloud's portal to pick up events (such as sucessful or failed log-ins, backup failures, etc).

We already monitor the VMs for logins. We would like to extend this monitoring to include UKCloud portal events. At present we have to manually login to monitor these, but would like to be alerted immediately someone logs in.

I’ve subscribed to the UK Cloud service status alerts emails and I’m not sure that they are as user friendly as they could be.

If you take a typical alert (example below) it tells me that ‘something’ is going to happen in my environment; however, there is no information about what work is being done and what the impact to us is.

Planned Maintenance - Enterprise Compute Cloud (ASSURED/ELEVATED), All Regions. 14th April 2018 has been scheduled

It’s only when I delve further onto the UK Cloud web site that I get the fuller picture, i.e.:

Planned Maintenance - Enterprise Compute Cloud (ASSURED/ELEVATED), All Regions. 14th April 2018, scheduled 2 weeks from now

    What?

UKCloud will be performing Operating Systems upgrades for the Portal

    When?

    Sat 07:00 14th Apr – Monday 06:00 16th Apr

    Impact to customer?

Access to the Portal will be intermittent throughout the maintenance window

I think it would be more efficient and save time if all of this information could be included within the original email alert without having to click on a link.
