UKCloud named as a supplier on new CCS Cloud Compute Framework, simplifying public sectors’ adoption of hyperscale cloud deployments

UKCloud, the multi-cloud experts dedicated to making transformation happen across UK public sector, has today announced that it has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Cloud Compute framework, one of only nine organisations to do so. The initiative has been introduced to provide a clear route for public sector organisations to adopt hyperscale cloud deployments directly from suppliers.

Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2019/20, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth over £1bn - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

UKCloud had to demonstrate its ability in various qualifying factors to show how its cloud offerings boost public sector organisations. UKCloud was able to showcase its ability to deliver:

  • Hyperscale Public Cloud
  • Broad Network Access
  • Automated Scaling and Rapid Elasticity
  • High Availability
  • Sovereign Hosting and Delivery from the UK
  • Ownership and Complete Control of all its Platforms

Alongside this, UKCloud needed to prove its dedication to corporate social responsibility, reflected in its receiving of the Social Value Quality Mark ® Level 1 by Social Value Business in January 2021.

Simon Hansford, UKCloud’s CEO, comments: “We’re delighted to be named as a supplier on the new Cloud Compute framework by Crown Commercial Service. We pride ourselves on the variety of our offering and our ability to deliver for public sector organisations which are a critical component of our nation.

UKCloud’s recent State of Digital and Data report uncovered that 97% of publication sector organisations are at least evaluating the use of innovative technology to enhance services, but essential to this is a cloud infrastructure that can provide the secure, scalable foundations which also protect data sovereignty.

“With inclusion on the CCS Cloud Compute, organisations are able to quickly analyse and confidently identify that UKCloud are able support them as they look to implement more digital-first operations and unlock new services. We’re very pleased to be able to contribute to wider social good in this way.”
