Summary
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will have a key role in ensuring that UKCloud maintains its reputation as the leading cloud provider supporting the UK’s shift towards digital government.
You will be developing and delivering clear and compelling articulation of our products to all stakeholders enabling them to understand the unique value of the UKCloud proposition.
To be successful, we’re looking for articulate person who can influence our product development roadmap. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will be comfortable with creating collateral, delivering training sessions and answering questions from stakeholders (both internally and externally). Your attention to detail will be superb, comfortable with ambiguity, be self-sufficient, a team player with a proven track record of working to completion.
Success in this role requires seeing the big picture, defining roadmaps, and communicating with defined audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Collateral Development – build and deliver compelling sales and marketing collateral which clearly articulates the value of the UKCloud products and proposition. Assist in localising this messaging for specific communities within UK public sector and across our partner ecosystem.
Competitive Positioning – articulate the strengths and weaknesses of UKCloud competitive solutions via a documented Compete Plan used to influence product/capability development
Training and Enablement – develop and deliver enablement content and sessions to help ensure that our sales team and wider community of partners are best able to promote UKCloud solutions to their customers
Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the effective co-ordinatation across marketing, sales and customer services
Market intelligence – maintain an insight as to what customers want, what competitors are doing and what value partners are creating
Demand generation – support the marketing programs that drive demand for our products
Support the sales process – you will enable the sales and pre-sales team to be largely self-sufficient, but will be called upon to help ensure we’re positioning our capability in the best way possible.
Influence and articulate the Product Roadmap – use your comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and competitive positioning to influence product development plans, input into programme management and articulate to customers and partners where our products are heading
Identify and track product KPIs measuring the success of UKCloud products with regard to market share, customer satisfaction and revenue growth
Skills/Experience
Essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to travel across the UK at least 25% of the week
- Excellent people and leadership skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
- Commercially savvy, with experience developing repeatable solutions
- Skilled and experienced in developing social networks via social media, events and relationship building
- Experience of IT sales cycle
- Experience of creating compelling Product Marketing collateral
Desirable
- Experience as a Product Marketing Manager or Customer facing IT professional
- Experience working within an IT service provider or using 3rd party IT services
- Deep expertise of cloud-based products especially IaaS or PaaS
