Fantastic opportunities within this newly created Operations Centre team for a NOC Shift Lead based within our technical operations team. Part of a 24/7 shift team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination of team duties and prioritising tasks to ensure the smooth running of the shift with a view of maintaining maximum availability of all UKCloud services
- As a senior member of the NOC, you will be expected to lead and mentor your team, prioritising work to meet service targets including:
- Task Allocation amongst the team
- Maintaining the Handover and being ready to report Service Status at any moment.
- Governance of Checklists, Monitoring and Change Execution.
- Acting as Out of Hours Change Manager and Gate Keeper for all changes impacting the live service.
- Creation of regular & on-demand reports as required.
- Major Incident Management (MIM), taking the lead during any MI, the MIM will ensure the right Comms, Resourcing and Prioritisation is taking place in addition to maintaining an accurate record of events and generation of Major Incident Reports.
- Ensuring the team is sufficiently trained and skilled to manage day to day tasks.
- Identification and Implementation of areas for improvement around Efficiency, Quality and Coverage
- Incident Management for internal tickets with additional support for Customer raised tickets out of hours.
- Other tasks and responsibilities will be given as necessary which may not at present be recognised but will ensure the successful operation of the company where flexibility is paramount.
- This is a Shift role that includes Night, Weekend and Bank Holiday working. You will also be required to be part of an informal standby rota.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Experience of leading a team in for a business critical platform in a 24/7 environment
- Experience with helpdesk tools within an ITIL environment, an ITIL qualification would be advantageous
- Disciplined, organised and self-motivated.
- Excellent Communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ideally Degree qualified
- Good all round IT skills across O/S, VMWare, Storage and Networking
