The newly created role of Director of Platforms will be a member of the senior management team and lead multi-disciplinary teams to operate and maintain our infrastructure, seeking to continually improve the experience of our Customers.

You will be a proven technical operation leader with track record of success within a 24/7 cloud environment. You will be able to clearly demonstrate your leadership qualities and delivery through people, create agility and value through teams and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high performing, multidisciplinary technical team supporting our compute and storage cloud platforms (i.e. networks, infrastructure, virtualisation, applications and everything in-between)
  • Champion the use of best practices within the team, acting on any opportunities to improve the way that we deliver to our Customers
  • Overall responsibility for the operational platform through continuous improvement, effectiveness and high availability
  • Ensure correct tooling (monitoring, fault detection, etc.) and embrace modern IT practices of automation and open documentation
  • Develop and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships, both internal and external (customers, key technology suppliers, etc.)

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent
  • High level of general technical knowledge; credible when working with internal and Customer experts
  • Disciplined and organised; able to manage and motivate a team to produce the highest quality of service in a busy and changing working environment
  • Enthusiasm and tenacity for continual improvement
  • Diplomacy and highly effective communication skills for engagement with senior Customer stakeholders
  • Experience with the use of ITIL and audit processes such as ISO 20000
